Ready to take your workplace investigations skills to the next level?

After nearly a year in the making, I'm thrilled to open up my first-ever, public Foundations of Workplace Investigations training!
This two-day training blends an engaging virtual session with an interactive in-person workshop, equipping investigators with the essential skills and practical tools to elevate their investigative expertise.
On Day 1, a four-hour virtual session on May 28th, we will tackle the essentials of workplace investigations, including the following topics:
▪️Scope and standard of evidence
▪️Witness selection & order
▪️Question preparation
▪️Opening admonitions
▪️Witness interviews
▪️Recording and Zoom considerations
▪️Credibility assessments
▪️The role of bias
▪️Gathering evidence
▪️Staying organized
▪️Report formatting
▪️Common mistakes
On Day 2, June 11th, we roll up our sleeves for an in-person deep dive, tackling a realistic, fictitious complaint complete with mock policies, witnesses, and evidence. You’ll collaborate with fellow participants to investigate the complaint and draft portions of an investigative report, putting your new skills into real-world practice!
Who is this training for? Whether you're an HR professional brand new to investigations or a more seasoned workplace investigator, the class provides the opportunity to gain new skills, polish existing ones, and try out your skills in a collaborative and supportive setting.
What do past participants say? This past year, I had the pleasure of facilitating this 2-day course with 40 investigators across a state-wide university system. Here is some of their feedback:
▪️"I have gone to a number of investigation trainings in my 30+ years of HR work, and this one was the best! Very engaging in both in person and on Zoom (which is difficult to do on Zoom)."
▪️"Moving through a sample investigation from start to finish was incredibly helpful to absorb the skills. The group discussion was also fantastic - hearing thoughts, ideas, and questions from others. Mandy was a fantastic trainer and facilitator!"
▪️"I'm grateful I was able to attend and for the content. Mandy is an organized, confident presenter that relayed the material in an engaging way."
Cost: $1000 per person, including lunch on Day 2 (location in the greater Portland area) and an abundance of resources and handouts for future use. Maine participants can seek partial reimbursement of their expenses through the Maine Workforce Development Compact.
